My name is Heather and I’ve been exploring the needle felting technique since 2016. From the moment I started felting it just clicked. I love the way the wool takes shape into each unique piece. I enjoy making all sorts of 2D and 3D sculptures. I find pleasure in the process of making the raw wool roving fibers come together into finished pieces that bring joy to others.
So what is Needle felting anyway? Needle felting is a dry process which uses barbed needles to interlock wool fibers to form a more condensed material. Wool fibers have scales which when rubbed against each other catch and lock into place to create this denser material called felt. Felting needles are used to entangle the fibers.
